Watercraft Tips

Our lake is designated for canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats and pontoons boats with engines up to 10 HP. Please follow these guidelines to ensure safety, protect the shoreline, and maintain a peaceful environment for all residents.

1. General Boating Safety
·         Always have a coast‑guard‑approved life jacket available.
·         Keep a safe distance from swimmers, docks, and moored boats.
·         Know your boat’s capacity limits and avoid overcrowding.

2. Lake Etiquette & Courtesy
·         Reduce speed near homes, docks, and shoreline to minimize wake.
·         Avoid loud music near residential coves, especially early morning or late evening.
·         Keep headlights and spotlights low at night to avoid blinding neighbors.

3. Launch & Dock Best Practices
·         Prepare your boat before backing down the ramp (straps off, plug in, gear onboard).
·         Park trailers only in designated areas to keep ramps clear.
·         Secure boats to your dock using proper bumpers and lines to prevent damage during waves.
·         Keep dock walkways clear of clutter for safety.

4. Clean, Drain, and Dry (Environmental Protection)
·         Prevent invasive species: clean your boat hull, prop, and trailer before and after use.
·         Avoid spilling fuel near the water—use absorbent pads when refueling.
·         Use eco‑friendly cleaners and avoid washing boats directly in the lake.
·         Report any signs of algae blooms or unusual fish behavior to our Property Manager.

5. Paddleboard, Kayak, and Canoe Tips
·         Stay close to shore and cross open water carefully.
·         Wear bright colors and attach small flags for visibility.
·         Store equipment so it doesn’t blow into the lake during storms.

Except for boats, please remove all watercraft (paddleboards, kayaks, etc.) and flotation items (lily pads, rafts, trampolines, etc.) from the water after use. Store them out of sight in their proper storage areas to help keep our lakefront looking beautiful and to protect water quality.
