- What a fun morning! Thank You to great organizers & volunteers! We all felt the burn... (Gunilla Bowling, Back on Track Sponsor, 2013)
- Lame Duck is a race that you need to put on your calendar. There are few races I have competed in where I have seen so much local support. This is the hardest 12 miles of racing I have ever encountered. Thanks for an awesome 2013 race! (David Callahan, Team Chad 52 Triathlons in 52 Weeks)
- Great time. This was my sons first time doing one of these and he loved it. He does 5k and obstacle races and this was by far more organized and smoothly done than most of those. He is already ready for another Lame Duck. (Rick Rigney, 2013)
- Great event. Great atmosphere. Great athletes. It was my First time doing a relay. I will definitely be back next year. (Keith Clemons, 2013)
- Can't wait to come back next year. Honestly one of the best staffed and organized events I have ever done and with TONS of great people. (John Bott, 2013)
- Dear Lame Duck organizers and members of the Mallard Point community, Thank you for an excellent 2013 race and all the wonderful personal touches. Testimonials from previous years:
-
I just want to thank you for making the 2011 Lame Duck a successful and safe event. The swimmers were certainly in shape. We didn't have to rescue anyone. Solution for future electric problems -- set up some bicycles to a generator and have contestants cool down by generating power for a few minutes. Looking for a GREEN tryathlon.

Everyone was asking how I was working after the race, but I was so pumped I'm sure my patients thought I was on drugs or something!!! :) Thanks again, for everything.

-
You and all the volunteers did such a great job! Please pass along my thanks for such a well run race! Also, next year maybe an honorable mention award for the most enthusiastic volunteer? Those girls at the top of the last hill of the bike were awesome; so happy and encouraging at the end of some tough hills!
- You all did such a great job....Lame Duck is a wonderful triathlon.
- We loved the race. Thanks so much for all of your work!
- I thought the race went great and I had a good time.
- Thanks for all of the help and encouragement. I'll be up for a second Lame Duck next year.
- Thanks so much for a great race. This was only my fourth triathlon, but my first outdoor swim. I learned a lot & had such a great time - especially finishing after those hills. I was warned, but wow! Many thanks to your wonderful volunteers who helped out today & for all the prep. It's a lot of work! Every one of them cheered me on which was really nice and I appreciated the support. Thanks again.
- Another fun day at the races. Everything seemed to go very well. You did a great job of getting it organized. Thanks for all your hard work.
- I had a great time this morning at the triathlon! Great event!!!
- (From participants blog) Alan and his wife Jennifer, along with a huge number of volunteers, have this baby organized and ready on race day… Lame Duck has my respect! Don't mess with the Duck!

- Thank you so much for the race yesterday! I had a blast! It was a small distance but that is an understatement! Wow hard course! I loved It!
- Thanks for the race, it was a great event!
- Thanks for all the hard work you all put into this. It was a great day. The course is very tough, but the satisfaction of completing it is sky high… Your volunteers had everything covered.
- Thanks so much for all your time and effort involved with the Lame Duck. We both really enjoyed the amazing event. All the volunteers (and staff) were so generous, all courses were well marked, and there was plenty of water for hydration during the event. We especially enjoyed the boat ride over to the start (prior to the race). Plus, we really appreciate the awesome shirts and great food after the race.
- Thank you for putting on this great event. My husband and I really enjoyed it (although he is still complaining about soreness) and we can't wait to do it all again next year.
- Thank you as well for a wonderful first time experience for me. I really appreciate how well organized the event was and how very helpful everyone was to me.
- You guys did a great job in putting on the Lame Duck! Truthfully, it was a great event and I enjoyed being a part of it.
- Just wanted to say, thanks for putting on such a fun event. You are my favorite triathlon race directors because you put on the most efficiently organized races that I have done. Everything ran so smooth from my point of view with no confusion, although I am sure it was a crazy day for you.
- Thanks so much. Great job. I'm sure it took a lot of your time and energy and I want you to know how much I appreciate you guys.
- The course was tough, but you and your team did a great job running it.
- I really enjoyed myself, and it was very well organized. I was very impressed.
- Overall, I really liked this race and even though I'm from Ohio, I'd consider doing it again.
- The participants, and the spectators, around here are still high as a kite, smiling broadly and talking endlessly about what a great job you did and what a great race it was. Pat yourselves on the back.
- Thanks for putting this event on. It was incredibly challenging and fun. A great race for a first timer trying to convince themselves that they can do a triathlon. If you can finish this one as a beginner you can walk away confident that they can be a triathlete. I look forward to next year’s event.
- Great event! I had a blast and I will be back next year. If I lived in Georgetown I would buy a house in your neighborhood! Everyone is very friendly. Excellent first triathlon experience.
- I had fun - the neighborhood folks/volunteers were wonderful and made me smile through the pain of climbing the hills. And the boat ride over to the start is a blast. Thank you residents of Mallard Point, Lame Duck volunteers, race directors, and the yellow duck buoys (for making the swim even more fun!)
- Thank you to all for the moment of silence in honor of my brother John Carr, he loved the sport and always gave it his all.
